Children’s Book Talks

This year we kicked off a series of children’s book talks with Katie Andrews Potter’s book When Mother Read Aloud: The Life Story of Almyra King Holsclaw in February. Potter’s book told of the joy and hardship of pioneer life through the story of her great-great-great grandmother, who was born in Jennings County in 1842. In March, Physicians Assistant Courtney Kingston read the book Outside, Inside by LeUyen Pham. Outside, Inside showed how communities came together during the Covid-19 pandemic. It celebrates essential workers and helps children understand the changes society has undergone in the past year.

We will upload a video each month, so check back often!
